Testing
Testing That Begins with You
Getting tested for sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and HIV is an important part of taking care of your health. Because many STIs don’t have noticeable symptoms or share symptoms with other ailments, regular testing is the best way to detect them and begin treatment as early as possible. Knowing your status helps protect your health, your partners’ health, and your peace of mind.
At Persad, we believe everyone deserves access to compassionate, affirming healthcare. We understand that concerns about stigma or judgment can make STI/HIV testing feel overwhelming. This is why we’ve created a safe, welcoming environment where you can feel comfortable seeking care. Whether it’s your first test or part of your regular healthcare routine, our team is here to support you with respect, confidentiality, and compassion. Everyone deserves care that centers them.
What to Expect
When you come to Persad for STI testing, we’ll begin by talking with you about your health, sexual history, and any questions or concerns you may have. Together, we’ll determine which tests and/or exams are appropriate based on your individual needs.
HIV
Rapid HIV testing which will provide a result in approximately 15-20 minutes. We will also provide confirmatory testing as warranted, which takes between 1-5 days .
Hepatitis C

Syphilis

Once your results are available, we’ll review them with you, answer any questions, and discuss next steps. If treatment is needed, we’ll work with you to begin care as quickly as possible or connect you with additional services and resources to support your health.
Many STIs—including hepatitis C, gonorrhea, chlamydia, and syphilis—can be cured with medication. While HIV is not yet curable, it is highly treatable, and with proper care, people living with HIV can lead long, healthy lives.

In addition to the above services, we’re excited to offer personalized PrEP services to best protect your health and prevent HIV transmission. If you’re HIV negative, a convenient PrEP pill or injection from our pharmacy partner can help protect you wherever you go!
