A few minutes of rain did not dampen the spirits or enthusiasm of PERSAD CENTER friends and supporters at the 2014 Donut Dash. This year’s 5K Run & Fun Walk took place on Sunday, September 21 at the beautiful South Shore Riverfront Park as participants set out on the South Side Riverfront Trail. The course was marked and timed by Elite Runners & Walkers and volunteers from Gay for Good were on hand to serve water and Gatorade to the participants. Thanks to DJ Adele for spinning the tunes and providing a lively soundtrack for the event!

OUR TOP PERFORMERS

Last year's second place runner, Mike Pedee, was this year’s fastest male runner and Sarah Brett was the fastest female runner. Each of them received medals and gift certificates courtesy of True Runner. The top fundraising prize went to Mike Shaw for raising $1,005 while John Britt took the second place fundraising prize for raising $565. Mike received a $500 Southwest gift card and Wyndham Hotel points while John received a $250 Amazon gift card. Congratulations and thanks to everyone who raised pledge money for the Donut Dash! All proceeds benefit PERSAD’S Free Care Fund providing services to the LGBTQ Community and people living with HIV.
