It was a new adventure for PERSAD CENTER as we kicked off our first-ever Scavenger Hunt on Sunday, July 28. By all accounts, it was a remarkable showing of fun-filled team spirit, and participants are already buzzing about next year's hunt. Said one team member “I had the most fun ever on Sunday! What a great way to raise money... and to engage the community in something that flexes both the brain muscles and the athletic muscles. I can't wait until next year!”  PERSAD Center Executive Director Betty Hill shared in the enthusiasm saying “it's rewarding to sponsor an event that brings people together for a healthy activity, and we're grateful to all of the teams that joined in".

PERSAD's Steel City Scavenger Hunt stepped off from Cruze Bar at 11:30 a.m. and teams were given a stack of trivia questions and challenging clues leading them to various downtown destinations. Event Organizing Chair Eli Horowitz was the mastermind behind many of the brain-teasing clues. When the teams completed the hunt and returned to Cruze at 2:00 p.m. the winning teams were announced. The top fundraisers were Team Fast and Fabulous lead by John Kandray. The top point earners were the Delta Dashers lead by Margot Martin. Second place prizes for both fundraising and points earned went to Team Poop Cats lead by Joe Prince. Congratulations to everyone!

The Scavenger Hunt was made possible by many generous sponsors and enthusiastic volunteers. PERSAD wishes to thank our hosts, Cruze bar along with:
