A 30-year resident of Shadyside and a lifelong Pittsburgher, Marty brings an extensive business and financial background along with a passion for community service. He is committed to helping create a stronger future for the city he loves.

A graduate of Duquesne University, Marty built a strong foundation in business and financial management, which he further developed during 14 years with Equitable Financial/AXA Companies. During that time, he learned the importance of “doing what you love and loving what you do.” Through those experiences, he discovered that his true passion was building relationships, finding common ground, creating coalitions among diverse groups, and helping those in need.

As President of Tri-PAC, the first LGBTQ+ political action committee in the region, Marty built lasting relationships that continue to this day. When his sister was diagnosed with lupus, he joined the Board of the Lupus Foundation to help advance awareness and support for those affected by the disease.

After witnessing the impact of HIV/AIDS and losing many friends to the epidemic, Marty joined the board of the Pittsburgh AIDS Task Force (now Allies for Health + Wellbeing), the oldest and largest AIDS service organization in Southwestern Pennsylvania. He also served as Vice President of the Delta Foundation of Pittsburgh, an LGBTQ+ advocacy organization.

Marty is a proud uncle to 12 nieces and nephews, half of whom live in Pittsburgh and half of whom are working hard to return and make Pittsburgh their home. Marty lives in Sewickley with his husband, Gene, who supports him in every way possible.
