Katherine Toole

Katie serves as the Global People, Culture & Engagement Lead for BNY’s Information Security Division (ISD) within the COO team. She works closely with Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) Matt McCormack and senior leadership to support employee engagement, organizational culture, and strategic initiatives. Among her accomplishments, Katie led the enterprise-wide rollout of CyberYOU cybersecurity training in just eight months. She also oversees external engagement approvals and helps ensure employee recognition, awards, and morale remain organizational priorities.

Katie is admired by her colleagues for her inclusive leadership style, organizational expertise, and commitment to fostering a positive workplace culture.

She serves as Global Co-Chair of BNY’s LGBTQ+ Employee Resource Group, PRISM. Katie was recognized as one of LGBT Great’s Top 100 LGBTQ+ Gamechangers in 2022 and was a finalist for the Women in Technology Advocate of the Year Award in 2021. In 2019, she was honored with the Global DEI Champion award for her commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and creating safe, supportive spaces for others.

Outside of her professional role, Katie serves as Board President of Small Town Hope, Inc., a nonprofit organization focused on improving health and wellness outcomes for children in rural Western Pennsylvania. She also serves on the Executive Board of Persad Center, supporting health and wellness initiatives for the LGBTQ+ community throughout Western Pennsylvania.

Katie is a proud graduate of Saint Francis University and resides in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
