she/her
Kat is a 2014 graduate of Mercyhurst University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Her passion for helping children and supporting families led her to work as a Mental Health Worker at Glade Run Residential Treatment Facility in the preteen girls’ unit.
Based on that experience, Kat decided to pursue graduate studies and become a therapist focused on working with children. After earning her Master of Science in Professional Counseling from Carlow University, she worked at TRAC Services for Families as a Child Therapist. During her time there, Kat received training in Trauma-Informed Therapy and Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI), with a focus on supporting children in foster care.
From 2022 to 2024, Kat worked at The Children’s Institute of Pittsburgh as both an outpatient therapist and a part-time school-based therapist. During this time, she developed a strong appreciation for taking a holistic approach and collaborating closely with parents, teachers, and other support systems.
Kat joined Persad Center in February 2024 and proudly supports her clients as they explore their emotions, build skills, and work toward their goals.
