What 50 Years of Showing Up Looks Like

At Persad, we measure our impact in more than numbers. We measure it by the lasting relationships we build, the trust we earn, and the stronger, healthier communities that grow when people know they have a place where they belong.

Impact Stats

1,200 active patients served at any given time

20-40 new patients begin care every month

Nearly 100 new patient inquiries received monthly

2 physical locations across western Pennsylvania

Telehealth available statewide across Pennsylvania. Clients in 33 of 67 counties.

Medicare, Medicaid, and most major commercial insurance accepted

Affirming care that works.

Persad’s client retention patterns aren’t able to be captured in numbers alone. While every person’s journey and experience is unique, approximately one third of our patients are with us for six months or less. These are typically individuals navigating a specific period of transition, grief, or crisis who get the care they need and are able to move forward.

Another third of our patients stay between one and four years. These individuals are building long-term coping skills, managing chronic mental health conditions, or working through experiences that take time to process with the right support.

One third of our patients have been with Persad for five years or more. Some have been receiving care for decades.  Having a provider who knows your full story, and cares for the whole you makes ongoing wellness possible.

More than Therapy

Persad’s impact extends far beyond one-on-one clinical care. Our programs create connection, reduce isolation, and strengthen the LGBTQ+ community in meaningful ways.

Our support groups bring people together in spaces where they are seen, heard, and understood. Our OWLS programming connects LGBTQ+ seniors to a peer community that understands their experience. TransParent provides parents and family members with a safe and supportive space to process their experiences, learn, ask questions, and build the knowledge and confidence to better support their transgender loved ones. Our Translucent adult group supports gender-diverse adults of all ages, while our Transtastix group focuses on gender-diverse youth ages 13-18.

Our client food pantry serves those facing food insecurity. Our Phoenix Fitness gym, specifically for gender-diverse adults, is the first in Pennsylvania. Our training and education programs reach professionals across Pennsylvania, creating a more welcoming and inclusive workforce.

Every program Persad runs is an extension of the same belief: affirming care means meeting people where they are, not just where it’s convenient to serve them.

You Can Make a Difference

Persad has been sustained by community support for over 50 years. Financial contributions, in-kind donations, and volunteer time all make a direct difference in the care and services we can provide.

Donate

Your gift funds therapy for clients who can't afford it, keeps the food pantry stocked, supports Phoenix Fitness, and helps Persad continue responding when the community needs something new.

Current Needs

In-kind donations of food, hygiene products, fitness equipment, and supplies make a real difference. Our current needs list is updated regularly.

Volunteer

Volunteers support events, outreach, the food pantry, administrative work, and more. If you want to put your time toward something that matters, Persad has a place for you.
