Persad Center provides a variety of training programs to professionals to improve their skills in providing culturally competent services to the LGBT communities. Persad provides programs to meet the needs of professionals working in human services, healthcare, education, and business environments.
Persad delivers speaking and training programs in a variety of settings including employment sites, colleges and universities, schools, health centers, counseling and behavioral health centers, social clubs, churches and faith centers, and other social service agencies.
Few professionals receive adequate training to prepare them to work with LGBT people or HIV+ people and their families. All people are influenced by heterosexism and homophobia and Persad’s training programs are designed to help individuals become comfortable and competent in addressing LGBT and HIV/AIDS issues.
Training is provided through speaking engagements, professional training programs, consultations and internships. For information about Persad training services, or to schedule a presentation for your group, contact Persad at 412-441-9786.
